coming home 0 ▲ Bez Lightyear 2 hours ago · Life · hide · 0 comments So last night England were knocked out of the World Cup at the semi-final stage by an Argentine side that believed kicking Englishmen, pushing them over and sometimes punching them in the back of the head was all part of the rules. After England scored the first goal, the Argentines remembered it was the ball they were supposed to kick and subsequently scored two goals to go through to the final. Ultimately the English players looked like they were actually trying in this tournament - which usually hasn't been the case for many years, but they valiantly failed at the penultimate hurdle. France, the tournament favourites, were knocked out at the same stage; which suggests that the English team did pretty well. So I'm not going to harp on about English misplaced belief like I did in the previous post. England did well, better than I expected, maybe not as well as others hoped. Football. Isn't it? Mmmmm?
