I'm trying to convey a vibe why I find more open libraries and frameworks easier. I have been tinkering with programming for atleast ten years. I have started a huge amount of projects, and most of them have failed. Most of them have failed due to a lack of a coherent idea, or because I lost motivation/wanted to work on another new project. However, on a few occasions, these projects failed for architectual reasons. I had painted myself into a corner, I could not get the physics to work as they should, the triggers were unreliabele, scene transitions borked my input handling. I find this to happen a lot less often with more bare-bones libraries and frameworks. Since I am in control of everything, I decide what happens when and why.
