Vietnamese food is one of London’s great bargains — if you know where to look. A proper bowl of phở, fragrant with star anise and slow-cooked bone broth, will fill you up for hours. So will a bún bò Huế, a rice box, or a well-stuffed bánh mì. The cuisine is built around generous, sustaining food, and it tends to be priced that way too. This post covers eleven restaurants across London, from Clerkenwell to Kentish Town to Soho, with picks at three price points: around the £5 mark (where available) snacks and light bites; £10 or under options, some more filling than others; and £15 or under options, which will usually be more substantial. This is by no means an exhaustive list… but it’s a good start.
