July 2026 Throwbacks

The mid-month archive revisit, looking back five, ten and fifteen years… July 2011 was almost absurdly productive, with river trips on both Selway and Middle Fork, plus outings in several gorgeous eastern Nevada mountain ranges. I’ve selected one of the latter, from a stormy evening in the Schell Creek Range foothills. July 2016 was mellower, but contained the noteworthy occasion of my son’s first overnight hike, a trip on which I did grab a few images: pretty typical Sierra Nevada lake material, but that’s nothing to complain about. July 2021 was the month of the record-breaking Northwest heatwave. Spending time by water was the only sensible course of action, so we went to the Selway (a heat adaptation we may shortly be reprising).
