Met Life Building

Met Life Building – New York, New York I mentioned the Met Life building in passing about a week ago when I featured the facade of Grand Central Station. This was formally the Pan Am building until 1992. This is on the opposite side of the station, and you can clearly see the Met Life logo at the top. Until today, I shot all the pictures in this series with the Leica D-Lux 8, a compact, cropped Micro 4/3 camera. It does a great job, and I now consider it the minimal standard for image quality that I’m satisfied with under most conditions. But, it doesn’t mean I don’t play around with lesser cameras. Sometimes, I have a perverted desire to push the photographic envelope with clearly substandard cameras. It’s a fun challenge that runs counter to the quest for image perfection. At times, it’s even more rewarding to make a good picture with limited gear. Hence, in addition to the D-Lux 8, I brought some other cameras. Here is the first non-D-Lux 8 picture.
