I like building websites. But in some circles, I might as well say that I like to drive to the forest before sunrise, chop down a tree, load it in my trunk, and gather some dry wood as well, then drive back before first light. All this just to use the wood to start a fire and cook breakfast for my family in our high-rise apartment. It makes no sense. There is a large class of apps that could be replaced by a simple website, especially those made for schools that only present information. The worst part is that in those apps, most of the things we take for granted on the web are blocked. You can't copy and paste, you can't open a link in a new app, and you have to update the entire app just to get new information. For someone like me, who never updates an app until it's necessary, I usually end up with broken applications.
