I'm Volunteering for My Library! 2 ▲ Syl's Blog 1 hour ago · Life · hide · 0 comments I've been searching for a volunteer opportunity for the past year or so, trying to find something I can stick with long-term and that will help my community while also speaking to me personally. I try to contribute to clothing drives and things like that whenever possible, but I've been looking for something more permanent, where I can serve in a steady role for a long time to come. Yesterday, out of the blue, I got an email from a volunteer with the Friends of the Knox County Public Library asking if I would be interested in serving as a Branch Liaison for the library that's just a mile down the road from me. I'm a paying member of the Friends, and I've volunteered for their used book sales in the past, but I wasn't aware of the Liaison role until I got the email. Apparently, the person who served in that role is retiring next month and they're looking for someone new who lives in the area. It feels like serendipity, in a way. It's the perfect opportunity. I love my nearby library… No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse. Comments will appear here.
