I have been off social media for years, and have slowly been building this website into my personal homepage on the internet. Today, most people subscribe by email, and a couple follow via RSS. But a surprising number of people have told me that they do not use email. For some, their job does not require it, so they do not check it often. For others, email is an overwhelming to-do list of spam and robot messages that feels too much like work. So, I built SMS support for them. The system uses a dedicated Twilio number, which I originally set up as a voicemail. To send text messages, I went through the rigmarole of A2P 10DLC registration, the new-ish industry standard that US telecom carriers created in response to spam and unsolicited… No comments yet.
