It’s a bit of a low-key rigmarole of a tale, but bear with me,He had ordered a book from an obscure, small-scale seller. The book itself was on an obscure subject, and so, rare, old., but not too expensive. This was a second-hand seller, and so the book was second, third… let’s just say ‘pre-read’. It took ages to come through, and when it arrived it was completely the wrong book, no relation to the ordered one. The seller had bad records and couldn’t trace the original one ordered, or any other copy of it. Flitting through the wrong book the friend came across two book marks, I’ll paste them up below, but believe me they were a shock.I repeat, the book’s previous owners were unknown. And so the windfall was his own. Question: what would you do with it, after these special circumstances? Would you put it away for that special day? Would you splurge (we’ve all done it)?
