Golden Brown / Silverness / Melodies Never Lie - The Let It Be Stage, Denver, Colorado, June 12, 2026We’ve been digging into the Aadam Jacobs Collection for over a year now … but of course, Jacobs is just one (extremely prolific) taper. Another extremely prolific taper? Lance Stack, who has been been bolstering his Archive.org offerings in recent months, uploading hours upon hours of his recordings stretching back more than two decades. A lot of the artists featured aren’t exactly household names; many of them were short-lived Colorado bands that may not have ever even made a record (where’s that Magic Mice tape, Lance?!). But that makes Stack’s stash all the more valuable. If the taper’s mission / compulsion is to preserve the ephemeral, to capture moments that are all-too-often lost in time … well, Lance is doing the work! And he’s still at it.
