Last week, I was invited to a conference in September at the Center for Hellenic Studies in Washington, DC. They need a title by the end of this week and I think that I have a title and some kind of basic idea for a paper: Slow Archaeology and Punk Practice Revisited: In Praise of Fragments. On my walk the other day, I start to spitball some ideas and here is my very preliminary outline: 1. Slow Archaeology and Punk Archaeology Revisited (~6-7 min) The organizers told me that they were interested in my ideas of slow and punk archaeology. I have to admit that my original formulation of these ideas (as well as the author himself) is getting a bit long in the tooth these days. Fortunately, some thoughtful people have picked up these ideas and refined them. There’s also been a good bit of parallel work done across the humanities, social sciences, and even academia in general.
