Today is publication day for Issue 71 of ‘Make Modern’ and within its pages is my own quilt design ‘Stripey Sky’. Here’s a look at the cover: Issue 71 of ‘Make Modern’ magazine Like all the previous editions of the magazine, which is published in Australia, it is available as an e-magazine, instantly downloadable and easy to store electronically. My quilt is a combination of stripes in bold colours on a sky-blue background. It is very scrap-friendly because although the colours of the stripes repeat across the quilt, it’s a different fabric for each one. I took the photo below on the East Cliff in Ramsgate and I like the hot summer vibe that it gives. ‘Stripey Sky’ quilt, designed by Amanda Jane Ogden, in issue 71 iof Make Modern magazine I quilted the piece with wavy lines going horizontally across the quilt as a counterpoint to the vertical stripes.
