Jack and I were away for the weekend in Vera (our motorhome). We stayed at the very lovely Blair Drummond Campsite. Yet I bet most people who read the title of the post presumed I was going to talk about the nearby Safari Park —I will in a minute. I picked up Jack up from nursery on Friday, and we drove straight to the campsite, had ice cream before dinner, set up Vera for our two night stay, found the play area, and ended the evening (after dinner and showers) playing with his frisbee whilst he ran about in his pyjamas. On Saturday we wandered through the forest to a farm shop for coffee (for me) and cake (for him), and in the afternoon we headed out on our bikes to check out Doune castle (where they filmed some parts of that Monty Python movie). We didn’t get there as the path we had cycled along got progressively overgrown and then just… stopped.
