Embers up in the sky were being dragged by the wind, but it was the storm's time for attention.As I was packing up, I pressed the shutter one last time to show a firestorm of stars falling. The camera missed focus, creating thick lines of light rather than twinkling bits of glitter exploding in the sky. It all adds to the story, I guess.I must have shaken the camera while taking the photograph, because the bits of light create curled trails across the frame. The July 4 fireworks started as normal, but it was clear there was no time to linger around by the end of it. In fact, time was ticking against me (tk tock tk tock).I had gone to the event to photograph it — the crowd in attendance was not the party kind, so I had no interest in photographing them. At most, I could have gotten a shot of someone smoking a cigarette at the tailgate of a pickup truck as the sky dimmed.That kind of street photography feels… No comments yet.
