Birthday Weekend.

My birthday is a couple of days away and so we’re in Flagstaff for a long weekend. I enjoyed a regular work day today, using the Internet at the tiny house we’ve rented in nearby Kachina Village. Being able to work remotely is such a nice perk. There’s been a lot going on lately that has my mood not quite where it would normally be on a birthday weekend. I’m thinking about this being the first birthday of my life where I won’t get a “happy birthday!” message from my mom. Last weekend I found out that my very good friend and first flight instructor passed away unexpectedly. He was only a couple of years older than me. For the first time in my life I’m also feeling very mortal. I also pay too much attention to parts of the world in which I have no control as to the outcome. The tiny house is absolutely wonderful and we are finding ourselves to be quite comfortable.
