I have completed 58 circuits around Sol. I share the exact birthday with actor Robert Gant from “Queer As Folk”. I wish him a happy birthday every year. I’m probably not the only one that shares the exact same birthday as him. I’ve been thinking a lot about life and where I am in life with the arrival of this particular birthday. I’m feeling my mortality more than ever but in the grand scheme of things I have it quite good. In many ways I feel the same as I always have, but the world around me is changing faster than I can keep up. While I have never really been one to fit in, I feel more out of step than I have ever felt before. One thing I have noticed as I’ve made my way into my later 50s is that it’s not as easy to get sleep. I’m typing this shortly before 5:00 a.m. The world keeps turning.
