Writing this week’s greeknotes on my balcony at 10pm, it’s a shade below 30ºC. Hot and sunny all week, pretty much just 30ºC, 24/7, cooler than the UK this week! With the exception of an unexpected but brief storm on thursday – the day I went to the beach. Ψαθα beach Having a free afternoon I travelled an hour north east of athens to Ψαθα beach (a lovely greek word to pronounce, psatha) where I spent my birthday last year. Luckily the only evidence of the storm was a cloudburst on the motorway and distant thunder – strange to hear on a sunny beach. The water was crystal clear thanks to the pebble beach, and it was lovely to be amongst bright green forested mountains again. Boldly stepping into a greek future Otherwise a nice quiet week. Two greek lessons in town, finally got into the future tense (hard! some verbs change completely, e.g τρώω (I eat) becomes φάω and βλέπω (I see) becomes δω). I celebrated my new ability to say θα πιω μια μπύρα (I will drink a beer) by drinking a lovely…
