2026 W28: Coriander, vinegar, and salt 0 ▲ Chris Martin 1 hour ago · Life · hide · 0 comments § This week brought the first few ripe blackberries and tomatoes of the season. The Cherokee purple and San Marzano plants are both growing really well but I noticed a number of their larger fruits are suffering from blossom end rot. It’s not unexpected but still disappointing. § On Thursday I harvested a big pile of fresh green coriander seeds from the rest of my bolting cilantro plants. I also finally tasted the cilantro capers I started brining a few weeks back. They taste exactly how you would expect: intensely of coriander, vinegar, and salt. I’m just hoping they mellow out with age. In the meantime I’m not planning to make any more with the coriander I just picked. So far the plan is to just keep them in the freezer as a substitute for fresh cilantro leaves. § I finally got around to starting Widow’s Bay.
