This is so far my single biggest hurdle cleared in this challenge yet. Let's wind it back to 6hrs...arriving on the river around 2pm I set about searching for Barbel with the polaroids which I always do, with the river running gin clear as usual owing to the fact it's almost a pure chalkstream finding fish is often easy, however Barbel are in short supply and finding them isn't as easy as some might think, so imagine my surprise when I peered into the first spot I could get to and witnessed a Barbel flashing on the gravels under a tree, then ten seconds later one a couple pound smaller flashed up too! I had found Barbel straight away, unbelievable. Of course, I was not moving anywhere. Chub and Bream across the next few hours made themselves known with seven Chub to 5lb 3oz and a solitary Bream coming to the net, I hoped… No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse.
