I've always wanted to be able to identify more plants. Now I want to write here those I've learned of thanks to her, so I can have my personal "herbarium". The field elm / Olmo campestre [Ulmus minor] A deciduous tree native to Europe. Tiny flowers and the fruit, called samara, it's flat and green. At work there is a tiny tree just outside the door in the back. When the samara dry up and fall they are a pain to sweep because they are very light and fly with every swoop. My colleague hated them because they flew in every time we opened the door. I discovered we have one growing just outside our house's fence too. Japanese dogwood / Corniolo giapponese [Cornus kousa] A small deciduous tree, cultivated as ornamental. Native to East Asia. It's flowers are a delicate white.
