Enter NYDM legends Cannibal Corpse and their fifth album ‘Vile’, their first without their legendary first vocalist Chris Barnes and the debut of George ‘Corpsegrinder’ Fisher of Monstrosity. Now, Barnes may be quite a divisive figure these days, but no doubt his vocals and his lyrics were an integral part of the first couple of Cannibal records and their notoriety both musically and lyrically. Thirty years on though, not a single person would argue that this turned out to be anything other than an excellent decision however, and ‘Vile’ would be our first taste of just what this now iconic team up would do for death metal’s future.
