Day 148: Random Chaos

2026-07-04Hello!The Fourth of July means a lot to my country, but until I photograph some fireworks at night (or some classic American barbecue?), I can't really say much without breaking the photography blog format.I'm completing my trilogy of black-dot abstract photography. These photos were easy to set up, but the fun came from using various props and putting them in interesting spots. For this photograph, I scattered those props around and added six letter tiles spelling "random".I pulled more fun play items from my games drawer: Scrabble tiles, poker chips, and magnetic darts. The crop shifted from landscape to a square image once I realized it kinda looked like an album cover.I then looked at a bunch of famous album covers based on photography, to see if I could draw comparisons or connections to any of them. I didn't have any album cover in mind when making this; the searching came afterwards.I found a generic list of "top 100 album covers" and ignored the ones that were drawn…
