Oracle disclosed that its headcount had fallen from 162,000 to 141,000 over the fiscal year, a 21,000-person reduction. The sentence arrived in a regulatory filing, which means it had been scrubbed, reviewed, blessed, and dressed for the SEC before being allowed outside. It is a beautiful little corporate fossil. No manager appears. No board appears. No executive appears. No one chooses. No one signs. No one fires.
