Day 147: Free Blackjack

2026-07-03Hello! Short article today after yesterday's ramble.This is just some props that I had lying around: a deck of cards, a cardboard box, some paper, and a printer. And a flashlight. I set the cards at the perfect position to stay freestanding.Abstract photography is always a bit strange, since by its very nature it is difficult to describe. I'm diving into it because, without my usual camera kit, I can't make use of camera equipment to make interesting shots. I set up a scene that would be interesting no matter what camera I used.I turned off the lights in my room and shined the flashlight off-frame. Paper reflects light in a unique way, giving the entire "tunnel" a soft glow that I wouldn't be able to replicate with a camera flash, for example.I've been doing photography for two years now, and in a professional sense (somewhat) for a year. Yet, I still enjoy the wacky experiments that reveal a bit more of my thought process. It's the closest I'll get to a series of photos…
