Two quick apps I’m trying to write about, but I keep getting pulled away: Crucial Tracks: You saw me testing here on the blog. Found out about this thanks to Lou Plummer. It’s a slow-paced social network/microblogging network where you can write about your favorite songs. The service offers a quick prompt for the day (“what song makes you think of your best friend?” or “a song you used to listen to growing up?” etc.) combined with a quick search that finds the song with the artwork of the album. This is federated and free, which means it plays nice with the IndieWeb (that’s us, if you read this on your RSS feed) and offers a bunch of other options for embedding and playing directly from streaming services. I already have it integrated with Micro.blog using Micropub, which they also support now. Moments: Think of Glass, but a free and less “meant for serious photographers” kind of platform.
