After having such a great time last year, expanding my coverage more than ever, I decided to go all-in on the BBC Proms once more. It’s another enticing schedule, although at this point I’m not completely sure what the underlying themes of the programme are – I guess I’ll work that out as I go along! It’s a shame that Doctor Who became a tad shambolic by the end of its most recent series, as ‘back in the day’ we should be treated to another Who Prom in 2026; at this point I can only hope that the mess gets sorted out, and it can make a return in the future. I had wondered if an Aardman Prom might have been in the offing, with it being its 50th anniversary – and it also feels well overdue for a Game of Thrones (slash GOT spin-offs) themed Prom, as thus far I think a bit of its music has just been featured in 2023’s “Fantasy, Myths and Legends” concert. I’ve also just found out that in 2014 there was the first ever “Sport Prom” – if ever there were a year for that to make a comeback it…
