Leonard Cohen - Kalvøyafestivalen, Bærum, Norway, June 30, 1985Nothing says summer like Leonard Cohen serenading a field full of Norwegians back in June of 1985. Right?? This very charming half-hour performance is well-worth a watch — is it the middle of the afternoon or the middle of the night? Who knows, but the sun is shining brightly as Lenny and his band shine even brighter, playing such faves as “Memories,” “The Story of Isaac” and “I Tried To Leave You.” You know, the songs of the summer! Towards the end, someone crowns Cohen as the King of Norway (or something) with a wreath of beautiful wildflowers, which delights him to no end.
