March 2015 This was actually my last walk around the Isle of Anglesey (as usual, I didn’t do the walks in order). Last year I had focussed on the south coast of the island, this year, the north coast. I started from the largest town on the island Holyhead, except it’s actually on a separate island, Holy Island. I had a nice short drive for this walk, it was less than 10 minutes from the camp-site I was staying at (Blackthorn Farm campsite) to Holyhead. I parked in a car park along Victoria Road just north of the bridge over the road and railway line. I headed up to the bridge and went up the steps across the bridge. I’m not a fan of Holyhead really, it is a run down and rough town, which I was glad to be leaving. The new bridge gave me a good view over the harbour. Looking back at Holyhead though there was still a large Woolworths sign next to the Co-Op. I think how long the Woolworths sign survived in a town is a good guage of it’s economic success – and there is clearly not much of…
