It was a quick visit on a diversion away from Trowbridges (see earlier posting), so I was only able to capture three clocks.The first is on the Post Office building on Station Road.The bonus clock is the typical Post Office window variety, but not showing the correct time.The second building is the Town Hall at 6 Market Place.Like the Post Office window one, this is another stopped clock.The Town Hall was completed in 1837. Funded by the Marquess of Bath, it is a 2 storey replica of a section of Longleat House It functioned as a council building until the local government reorganisation of 1974, and was subsequently sold for commercial use. It was Grade II listed in 1978.This next clock on Church Street seems to be a bit of an oddity, in that in is not the sort of location that you would expect to see one.A Wiltshire Times article Wiltshire Times Then & Now reveals that it was originally located on… No comments yet.
