Eight military aircraft left colored trails of smoke of red, white, and blue as part of various celebrations around the US.I was uncertain whether the airshow would commence as normal, because the weather forecasts predicted rain and thunderstorms. A bit of rain wouldn't prevent the aircraft from taking off, but thunderstorms might be a no-go for the pilots' safety.After hours of waiting, the jets took off.The British Red Arrows went first. With smoke trails, they made a few flyovers and landed. I couldn't see much of them, and I wonder if they were restricted by weather or by US priority planning.I was most looking forward to them! I found out about this event through the Red Arrows webpage. I decided that an appearance at Baltimore would be a great opportunity to see them in person, even if a mile or two up and away.
