June 2015 I had a bit of a dilemma planning this walk. I could do a short walk from Almwch to Cemaes or I could, as I wanted to do, try and find a longer route. The problem was a lack of public transport, there are few settlements along the coast between Cemaes and Holyhead and the latter is too far. That means there is also a lack of buses, which is a problem. In the end I settle for getting a bus to Rhydwyn and walking a little over a mile to Church Bay on the coast. This isn’t perfect as the buses aren’t frequent to there (and less frequent now than they were then), but it means I can do the longer route that I hoped. I was staying at the Blackthorn Farm campsite and had a much better night sleep than last night now the noisy group that disturbed me last night have left.
