I was bored. “Georgie, why don’t you go to the library and while you are there get a book for me.” Half-heartedly, I took my mother’s advice.Next decision; bike or walk. When I got there, Mrs. Lewis, the librarian, was too busy to assist me.I was on my own. I flipped through the Hot Rod, Car & Driver, and Model Train magazines before combing the shelves getting some books for me and Mom. Mrs. Lewis stamped my library card and I walked home. Mom thanked me for selecting the book I did for her; something with ‘Paradise’ in the title. (Mrs. Lewis did approve it.) I went to the pantry to get a folding chair and then headed out to read my book under my favorite tree. The tree’s still there! Thanks Google Maps! It’s an oak tree.Occassionally, acorns would bop me on the head.I would make whistles out of the ones that did. “Cut it out!”, I would shout. That tree made all books exciting to read.
