LG TV AirPlay troubleshooting guide

I have an LG C5 TV. Great display, dogshit software. AirPlay often stops working mid-stream or won’t connect at all. Both my iPhone and my Macbook try to connect for about 30 seconds, then fail. It seems like the AirPlay service on the TV crashes, and the fix is to restart it. You can do this by toggling AirPlay off, then back on in the AirPlay app on the TV. Press source Select AirPlay In the AirPlay setting, toggle AirPlay off, then on again. Alternatively, buy an Apple TV.
