I Am Quite Fond Of Tokyo Xtreme Racer

I'm getting stuck in draft hell... I need to make simpler posts again... I've been yearning for a proper car-pg, something with a slow, difficult campaign/career mode. Most people would point to blackbox era NFS or PS2/3 era Grand Turismo, but I am a late zoomer, and such I have no nostalgia for these games. I hate to say it, but they aren't that good by modern standards anymore... Forza Horizon has gutted all progression, NFS has been quite meh since its 2015 reboot. However one day while I was perusing the Steam storefront I found Tokyo Xtreme Racer, which looked quite neat. Eventually I bought it, played it a bit, and then put it off... It didn't really click for me, the cars were slow, the map was limited and kinda boring, its just a bunch of straight highways. So it went into the large pile of steam games with only a couple of hours of game time. Skip forward to last week, vacation is soon here and I get the ever returning need for speed.
