Work was Fine Today 0 ▲ David McGee 1 hour ago · Life · hide · 0 comments People on the internet have a weirdly negative attitude towards work. When I see someone on the internet talking about their job, they're usually unhappy about it. When I hear people talk about their jobs in real life, they're much more neutral or positive. Occasionally, someone mentions that they had to work 16 hours that week, or they say that their boss bullies them until they cry. But this is the exception rather the rule. This puzzled me for awhile, but I think this is just negativity bias. If you have a normal day at the office, you're less likely to log onto some social media app and type out "work was fine today." But, if your workday is a once-in-a-generation disaster, you're more likely to rant about it to the void. So, in the spirit of counteracting negativity bias, I feel the need to say that work was fine today. It was boring and tedious, but it was fine, and it made me marginally richer than I would otherwise be. For better or worse, most of life is like this. No comments yet.
