Facade, Grand Central Terminal – New York, New Yorkk There may be a better vantage point to capture the facade of the main entrance for Grand Central Terminal, but that would require more investigation than I was willing to do. An elevated roadway leads to the second level of this iconic train station, blocking a clear view of the front. You can see that roadway on the bottom left of the frame. Instead, I was far enough back to include the main clock and ornamentation compressed with the details of the surrounding city, such as the buildings and the traffic light. What results is a less obvious view of the building’s front. I thought I used a decent amount of zoom to create this compressed view, but surprisingly, I shot this at a 48.8mm equivalent. Which means, this is pretty much the view a person will see from that spot. The building behind the ornate structure is the Met Life building, which I always think of as the Old Pan Am building.
