I recently felt a sudden deep desire to try my hand at some west coast-style/experimental synthesis. After looking at a number of possibilities over a few weeks, I decided to try out the fully modular Pittsburgh Modular Voltage Lab 2. I’ve never had a true modular system before, so this is my first time doing from-scratch patching. Before today, I’ve spent about 4 hours with the system trying to understand how things work. Given this and the fact that I saw the #WeekOfPatching tag on Mastodon today, and the fact that Greg helped me understand a couple of things yesterday, I decided to sit down and patch something up. It came out…weird. Which I think is the point? It’s over 15 minutes long, so if anyone listens to the whole thing they get a cookie. And a stern talking-to.
