Buc-ee’s 0 ▲ Life Is Such A Sweet Insanity. 18 hours ago · Life · hide · 0 comments For the 4th of July celebration my husband and I went for a ride in the Jeep. We hadn’t checked out some of the areas north of Phoenix, so we drove up through towns like Scottsdale, all the way up to Carefree, and Cave Creek. It was a pleasant drive and we enjoyed the back roads for a vast majority of the drive. While we were in the Phoenix area, I took Earl for his first visit to Buc-ee’s. I couldn’t think of anything more Americana in the 21st century than a travel stop with over 120 gas pumps and 70K square feet of retail floor space. In all actuality, I really like Buc-ee’s, and I’m happy they’ve made it as far west as Arizona. I do like the ‘Americana’ aspect of the chain. I know there are folks that don’t like Buc-ee’s, but I am not among their number. This wasn’t my first stop at a Buc-ee’s; I’ve been to them during storm chasing trips.
