Happy Day After Independence Day! It’s on a Sunday, which means you have time to recuperate! Well, it’s over now: Happy to say this weekend’s event was one that brought an entire nation together, and, for a moment, healed its wounds as we celebrated the potential and promise of the future, and all the good days to come. I am, of course, talking about the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. Then there was whatever that shitshow was in Washington, DC, which included marching white nationalists, storm evacuations, and Trump using the nation’s 250th birthday to ramble in a manner that was not just the usual hateful nonsense, but also the usual boring nonsense. I genuinely don’t understand how anyone ever considered him media savvy, watching him in action is like watching your racist senile grandpa harangue the cat. Well, now it’s over, and it was largely a failure, and Trump’s hope that this would be the most spectacular display of self-gratification ever is dashed. As was noted on…
