There were only two times over the last 89 years of the Golden Gate Bridge's existence when the City of San Francisco set the 4th of July fireworks show from its span: in 2012 for the GGB's 75th anniversary, and in 1987 for its 50th. So, this one for the USA's 250th anniversary is special, too. Although Karl the Fog may well arrive to valence the atmospheric extravaganza, it should still be spectacular, with refractive dimensions exploding all over the space... from the span, through it, above it, and so on and so forth. I'm posting this at noon on the 4th, so I don't have any images to share yet. There will certainly not be a paucity of those from anywhere else online and off, but I'll want to share my own here, for this blog's posterity and my own memory landscape. I'll be on a rooftop in the Marina, largely avoiding the crowds at Fort Mason, the Marina Green, Crissy Field, the Presidio, and should have an expansive view of things from there.
