Too many of us in democracies that have enjoyed many decades of peace think of liberty as an absence of force, of constraints, of obligation. In fact, it is also a duty toward ourselves and our neighbors, in the present and for our futures. Would that Russians began to claim liberty in this sense of the word as their own, too. Would that they saw it as inherent to the human condition. Instead, they continue to allow powerful men to take advantage of their older habits of servitude. Instead, they spend their treasure and the blood of others to deprive their neighbors in Ukraine of life and liberty. 🇺🇦 🗽 No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse. Comments will appear here.
