IndieWebClub Bangalore: Special Edition Meetup, A Retrospective

The day after IndieWebClub Bangalore Special Anniversary Meetup, Ankur, Tanvi and I got together and did a retrospective on the event. We noted down what went well, what didn’t and what we should do the next time. This note summarized our discussion. What Went Well# We front-loaded many decisions, such as talk format, venue, date, topics etc., and didn’t second-guess them. This helped us later with our tight schedule. We were serious about the CFP from the get-go. We wrote a detailed CFP statement and made a web page too. This made participants also take it seriously. We actively reached out to folks from the community, asking them to submit proposals. Most of our proposals came from the people we reached out to. We decided at the very beginning that we want a diverse set of well-rounded talks and we stuck with the decision, letting it guide us in talk selection.
