Well, it is an open secret around here that when we see a promo hit our emails that has Chile mentioned, we do perk up our battered ears but we’ve got a lot of reason to. Chile has become the country-de-jure for extreme metal in the past decade, pouring out a crazy amount of incredible bands and albums, and Oraculum are about to take centre stage with their debut full length record, ‘Hybris Divina’. Death metal supremacy, out now through Invictus Productions. Bucking that trend of atmospheric or grandiose intro tracks, ‘A Monument to Fallen Virtues’ builds all the tension you need with doomy riffs and potent, growled sermons of terror before ‘The Great One’ explodes into a maelstrom of ferocious, old school death metal that brings to mind Autopsy and Immolation immediately.
