I enjoy making photographs there too: walking along the high street, past Boxpark, and down Bishopsgate offers excellent opportunities for street and documentary photography. Some would tell you the original, trendy Shoreditch crowd can be found in Hackney now. In any case, walking along that route northwards brings you to an unassuming alley past a few neo-industrial lofts. Inside one of these happen to be the offices of one of my favourite independent type foundries A2-TYPE whose breadth and quality of work is rivalled by few other companies. For a long time I have been using New Transport, one of their typefaces, on this website – possibly the longest I have ever used a single typeface. A week ago I redesigned this website using, as its main typeface, an elegant French broad-nib calligraphy-inspired serif called Register, also from A2-TYPE. Imagine my… No comments yet.
