Every Screenshot Was a Reminder

I’m so glad I came to the hotel this past Sunday! The heat advisory that was issued late last week quickly changed to an outright warning for Sunday afternoon thru Wednesday night. I have a habit of taking screenshots of my weather app. It’s interesting to look back at these but, this time, I think my excessive screenshots were reminders that I made the right choice coming to the hotel. Here’s a little on the heat…On Sunday afternoon, it was getting a little warm by the time I moved to the hotel. Surprisingly, I did well and got into my air conditioned room before the downright wicked heat arrived. By Monday afternoon, northwest Illinois transformed into a sauna. I’ve been in the van when the thermometer crept over 100… but with this week’s high humidity and Feels Like temps, being in the van would have been wildly uncomfortable… not to mention dangerous.
