It’s been a long time since I read Isaac Asimov’s Foundation. My cousin Oscar and I were at school, we recently met Edgar and he presented us Santos, a senior at our school. Santos brought with him Isaac Asimov’s The Naked Sun, in English. By then I had read Arthur C. Clark’s 2001 and Isaac Asimov’s The End of Eternity from my oldest brother’s collection, but Santos had read a lot more. He asked if we heard about Foundation and pitched the story about this super advanced mathematics and science used to accurately predict what people would do in the future. Oscar and I were mesmerized. Weeks later, Oscar discovered he had the book in his house! It had been there all the time in his parent’s books collection. We took turns reading it, then Oliver joined. I memorized the entire dialog between Hari Seldon and Gaal Dornick’s first encounter. Oscar later purchased the next books, as we were finishing them.
