2026-06-24Hello! This is now the oldest photo I've uploaded to the website.This is from my offline 2025 series, and I've talked about why I don't like looking at my past work. At least this time, I got creative with motion blur.It seems like anyone with a camera would try to take a photo like this, at any subway or metro station around the world. When the area is dimly lit, the camera sensor needs more time to gather light from its surroundings. Without a tripod, long exposures tend to have motion blur as the hand holding the camera shakes a little; a certain spot will have changed location as the camera moves.If the spot in question is moving itself, it shows up as blur. If it's moving in a straight line, the image has streaks of blur. And that shows itself in this resulting photo. A natural limitation (lack of light) leading to longer exposures that allow for motion blur like this. And I'm not going to add more light to the scene; I'd annoy so many people if I turned on the camera…
