Nau maiYesterday we rested and sweated in Columbus. Gabe and I walked for half an hour in ninety degree heat to get this Reuben sandwich for breakfast. There is a fantastic deli in German Village called Katzingers and we visit it every time we come through Columbus. On their window is a sign that says Hot Corned Beef, and that is what I was served along with sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Russian dressing on rye. The Ohio Statehouse. They have some lovely brick buildings in Columbus. If I were an Ohioan farmer in the 1950s I certainly wouldn’t have been able to resist buying a plow when I saw the elegant friezes and proportioning of this structure. I wouldn’t want to be a fire in downtown Columbus when you had to contend with the Edwardian Municipal beauty of this early 20th century fire station.
