To celebrate Hannah's birthday, we took a trip to Death Valley. We had planned to go a few years back, and a bad storm forced us to cancel, so it was great to finally make it there. The reports of the superbloom were a bit exaggerated, since in our heads we were imagining our experience at nearly a decade ago at Carrizo Plain, but it was still beautiful. We got big rocks, salt flats, dunes, wildflowers, and very good light. We stayed in Panamint Springs, a small campground just outside the main area of the park. It's a good base for exploring, and the campground is nice, but we had to drive a bit to get to the main attractions. Next time, I'd try to stay in Furnace Creek, or one of the other campgrounds. On the way back we stopped at Paso Robles for a night, but I have no photos there. The wine was good, and the town was cute, but not sure you need more than a day there.
