I started learning crochet

Hello cubs ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ, The title says it all: I started learning crochet yesterday. After thinking about it all weekend, looking at tutorials and dozens of aesthetic Instagram accounts, I thought "Why not try?". Yesterday afternoon, I went to buy a few crochet hooks of different sizes and 2 balls of yarn. Unfortunately I don't think I chose them very well, as they're both acrylic, and I find it to be a bit slippery. Maybe I should have bought some cotton yarn. I also think my yarn is too thin for my hooks - well, I had to start somewhere, right? So far, I find it as exciting and fun as it is challenging. I'm learning only via online tutorials, both written and video-based, and while there is a huge amount of quality content online, I think I'd learn faster if I was taught in person. I don't really have any goal in mind with it. I just felt like I needed a new cosy/easy hobby that would take me off screens as much as possible.
